ok, so are you wanting a new HU(head unit or radio/cdplayer) or do you want to keep it stock? Do you want to upgrade your existing speakers? or do you just want to get an amp and a couple of subs?

2-12's well, then you shouldn't need but one mono amp...size of the amp will depend on the rms wattage of the subs...I'm fixing to go into town, but I'm sure some of the others can make suggestions. C'mon guys ....2-12's and an amp for $500, thats doable

2 channel amp might work better for a two sub setup, not to mention it will be easier to wire up...

Two Audioque 12" 2.5's = $328 shipped
http://www.audioque.com/aq/order.htm

Two MA Audio M1889I monoblocks = $230 shipped (approx.) 800RMS each @ 2 ohms
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_2680_--+FINAL+CLOSEOUT+--+MA+Audio+M1889I.ht ml

That's probably the best you can do for around $500.

Best advice is to save up more money and do your research. Spend atleast a month on here and at the end, you'll know what you want.

If it was me, for a first time system....
2 type r 12's, 2 cvrs, 2 aq sd2.5, 2 RE SR's (SQ), 2 L7's (just spl).

All powered using a EDnine.1 www.edesignaudio.com

Don't get sony....

Anyways, www.bcae1.com << read this site if you really wanna get into car audio.

I just wanna know why this guy just brushes off my post, which IMO is the best he can do for around $500, and decides on two Explod's. WTF!?!. That's like trading a 2000 Mercedes for a 1977 Datsun pickup straight up.

Two AQ 2.5's are a great choice because not only are they the best sub for the money hands down, but they also give him a solid starting point and the flexibility to step up on amps down the road. By the way, I know alot of you hate on MA, and for mostly good reason, but I have installed a few of those M1889I's and they are a solid amp and put out close to the RMS and have been reliable so far . And for $99, they are a flat-out steal.

anyone who just comes straight on here asking us to make their decisions is an idiot. Anyone with a brain will look at other posts and search the forum.

He obviously proved his ignorance by buying sony so let his dumb @ss follow the retard road over the stick head bridge to the land of sony pentagon subwoofer heaven Upload

i'd say a pair of maw 12s', about $175 shipped, maybe a bit more. and a cadence 750.1, $175 shipped new from cadence. leaves you plenty left over for a box.

Thomas!!
First off, they were kidding about the Explodes, Sony is probably the WORST pieces of junk you can get. Sony subs work best with Sony amps, but thats because both are crap. A Sony 1000 watt amp will only put out about 350 watts, and if you were to give a Sony Explode sub the full 1200 watts it says its capable of, it would do exactly what its name says and EXPLODE.

Brad had a good idea there with what he told you,

>>>Two Audioque 12" 2.5's = $328 shipped
http://www.audioque.com/aq/order.htm

Two MA Audio M1889I monoblocks = $230 shipped (approx.) 800RMS each @ 2 ohms
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_2680_--+FINAL+CLOSEOUT+--+MA+Audio+M1889I.ht ml

That's probably the best you can do for around $500. <<

and so did Berny

>>Best advice is to save up more money and do your research. Spend atleast a month on here and at the end, you'll know what you want.

Thomas

Check those 2 sites out. These guys can hate on MA Audio all they want. But got the money that'll get you saterted real well. A 18 inch sub and a 1200 watt amp. All you'll need is a boc and the right wires. You should be able to come in at just over 500$$$. It'll probably be 2 much base for you, but the neighbors will hear u comin.
