I'm new to the car audio scene and I was wondering if you could give me any insight into a good amp for a type-r sub. Currently i'm looking at the Hifonics Bxi606. putting out 600 watts at 1-ohm to a 2-ohm dvc type-r.

Whats your budget for the amp. Hifonics is budget equipment and they only do about 80% of the power they claim.

$300 is the limit I'm shooting for. Any suggestions for a higher quality amp to put out between 500 and 600 watts rms?

Thanks for the reply

Take a look at this to get an idea of what brands to consider:

Also you may want to talk to Kevin from low-hz ( lowhz01@yahoo.com ) he carries a lot of good brands and usually has the best prices.

What's your opinion on Exile Audio, I've been checking them out and they seem like a good company, thoughts?
