ok heres the problem. Once i start bumpin pretty hard i see my voltages drop to around 11.5 or so. ive only done this like twice bc i dont want to clip my subs. but once i see the voltage drop my subs kind of cut in and out. each WMD (2) is seeing about 800 watts a piece in about 8.5 cubes at 37hz. since my box is too big for those woofers im guessin 800 watts will get them to full potential. so would my subs be cutting in and out because A. they reached full potential and im overpowering them or B. is the clipping causing them to sound weird.

shouldnt be clipping at 11.5v but u might want to check your gain anyway

If you're trying to get 3000 watts from that amp at that voltage, it's clipping.

You need an HO alternator if your voltage is dropping that much......

I think it is a bad idea to have a multi thousand watt system with no HO alt. It is pointless. You will never get the power the amp is rated, you will clip your subs and maybe blow them, could kill your battery, and I'm sure other problems as well. You're going to need to buy a new alt anyways when you burn this one up.

If you don't have money to purchase an HO alt in the first place, save up or start with a smaller system. I originally wanted 2 Qs with 2000rms, but knew I couldn't afford the HO alt, so now I am only going with one until I can afford everything. Your alternator is the most important part of your setup!

Sorry...

Perfect example of a system built bass ackwards.

Alt first....then the rest. All the money spent is a waste.... if you cant feed it.
