I have... (2) 4 Ohm DVC Subs = 4 Ohm Load
(2) 4 Ohm DVC Subs = 1 Ohm Load

Im looking for a kicker amp that is either mono or 2 channel amp.. NOT 4 CHANNEL, that will work for these subs. The amp cant be any biggers than the ZX1000.1, because I dont have an upgraded batter/alt or 1/0gauge power/ground wire.

What amp will work for this, it seems that any decent amp I find is 2ohm stable, like the (sx900.2, zx850.2, zx750.1)

If you want a nice efficient amp, take a peek at the Cadence DCA1000. I can run one to you around $380 shipped.

his subs need like 900W rms each...
John, you'll need something like 2 zx750.1s and run each to each sub at a 2ohm load.

900rms total u mean? The P3's/Type R's both arent over 500rms each. ALso matt, please calm down, It wasnt clearly explained to me about why those amps will work, so I was looking for another opinion..... Calm down, Calm down, CALM THE PHUCK DOWN!

Well.....his subs are 500w rms. He wants to keep his 4gauge wire and not tax his electrical system that hard.......so 1000w is about the limit. The 900.2 will give him 450+ watts rms per sub, so I think it is a good choice for him.

Looks like that'll work then, i may be confusing him with another dude that keeps posting the same stuff over and over.

dang the sx900.2 is $440!! and thats the cheapest i found, if anyone knows where to find a better deal let me know, or else if the ZX850.2 will work, thats only $314.00 (these are all prices which include shipping). Would the ZX850.2 be just as sufficient, and both obviously will comply with my 4AWG..

LMAO @ What?

Yes, you can go with zx850.2 - gives 850W rms at 4ohm at 14.4V. If you want to save money, you can get audiobahn A16000V for $245 shipped. It's 800W at 4ohm. I would stick with the more powerful, better quality kicker though if your budget's not that pressed.

whats 1000 threads translate to in english?

If you took the time to read the first post you would know that..
"Im looking for a kicker amp that is either mono or 2 channel amp.. NOT 4 CHANNEL, that will work for these subs. The amp cant be any biggers than the ZX1000.1, because I dont have an upgraded batter/alt or 1/0gauge power/ground wire. "

As for amp, Im taking Olegs and matts suggestions and sticking to a ZX850.2.

$313 shipped for a ZX850.2 here:

Before I tell you this, don't go all crazy with the questions......ok?
I know you are aware that you can wire your pair of dual 4 subs to 1ohm, so I have another possible option for an amp that could suit you well; the HIFONICS BXI1206D. It is rated at 1200w rms @ 1ohm. It will do pretty damn close to its rated power and Hifonics is a reliable company.

Here is the HIFONICS BXI1206D for $215 shipped:

^^^^I think he is trying to stay inexpensive, and I don't think the Crossfire VR1000D would like his 4gauge wiring.

I'm going to go ahead and hijack this threat for myself! muahaha
so my audiobahn amp's rated at 2400W rms (actual rating may be less, whatever) and it only accepts 4awg wire! am i supposed to assume 4awg is sufficient??

Oleg.....I'm suprised that amp only accepts 4gauge. It is very unusual especially because that amp is high current, meaning it will pull more current than other amps with the same RMS rating.

I would use 1/0 wire. Just trim down the end of the 1/0 that will be going into the amp to the largest diameter that will fit.

Strip the wire back at the end as you usually would, then just take a handsaw and cut off excess strands of wire, to get it down to 4gauge size, then try inserting it into the amp.

john: the audiobahn discussion had nothing to do with you

"Kicker does support 4AWG correct?"
yes the kicker "supports" 4gauge

I was under the impression you were concerned about money, thats why I recommended the Hifonics. They are both great amps for what you are trying to do. If I was in your position I would choose the Hifonics because it is inexpensive and it is class D.

no no no, i didnt want to pay $440 for a sx900.2, but i can get a zx850.2 for $314 shipped, which is fine, i have already had an audiobahn amp and it suckedass.

As far as the 4AWG ? goes, it was just a question... chill out

Retarded? There was nothing retarded about that question.. I just needed reassurance that the ZX850.2 was within my boundaries. Some say that the ZX1000.1 is sufficient on 4AWG wire, and others say it will fry, im just looking for more than 1 opinion..

You will not "fry" an amp by using to a wire that is to small. You will get crappy performance with the amp and you may "fry" the wire itself, but you wont "fry" the amp.

I thought your question was retarded because of the way you phrased it. You said:"Kicker does support 4AWG correct?" I found it funny that you said support as if certain wires were not compatible. Nothin to get pissed about, I just thought it was funny.

haha

Kickers playin it safe, i know it will work with my existing wire, i wont have to worry about upgrading batt/alt, and ive owned a kicker amp before and know its one hell of an amp and won't ever be disappointed so long as it has the name "kicker" on it. Im sure its a bargain, but im not too familiar with those amps. Good luck bro.

FINE! Lol ill look into it, just answer me these few questions.
1) Whats the peak RMS (actual not rated)
2) can this be wired to 4 ohms
3) Can this use 4 AWG power/ground wire SAFELY!
4) Will i have to upgrade my battery/alt if they are stock?
5) How old is it, and are you the origonal owner?

Just let me know and ill consider, thanks!

1) he posted specs.
2) yes.
3) more than likely yes, should have no problem with 4 gauge.
4) maybe, depending on your charging system now. gueesing, if this is the only amp, no. but only after installing it will you know.
5) looks like he bough them brand new, so he's the original owner.

https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/car-audio/345320.html

also, looks like it's obo. you might be able to get one even lower. even though it's a steal at these prices.

The one you found isn't the same model. Although, the one you found will work just as good.
