i've never heard a system w/ a volfenhag but my hifonics BXi 1206D even made my 2 10" audiobahn subs hit hard, til i fried one of them lol. people say hifonics is slightly overrated but id say it is 1 hell of a budget brand
I happen to own a Volf sibling amp -- DHD. Using it to power tower speakers in my boat. Actually seems to be a pretty solid amp, especially for $40 shipped from ebay. There are pix on ROE. It seems American Hifi CAN build a decent amp. In most cases they just choose not to.
optidriven, DHD and boss are great amps when it comes to real low budget. They're used often here in DR cuz of those skills. Overall they s.ck but if you know about car audio and you aren't expecting full power of it, then it might solve your issues. For example.. i'm using temporary volfenhag 6.5 and they're bad, of course.. but right now, i can listen to music because of them so they're not that bad.
