Anyone know if only connecting 1 voice coil of a DVC sub would damage the sub?

Thanks

a DVC sub needs the same power to both coils for the speaker to move back and forth properly within the magnet structure.
you'll trash the coils powering only one coil.
bcae1.com should have a diagram of a DVC sub. look at how its constructed.
the dual coils are strictly there to be wired in series or parallel to offer various loads to the amp.

i have a 15 inch sub that i blew. it's a dvc 4 ohm subwoofer. one of the coils went out, and so i just bridged one of the coils of the sub to an amp stable at 4 ohms. this wouldn't matter because the other coil is fried already right?

eh, I guess.
www.circuitshop.com or similar places can rebuild the sub for you a lot cheaper than it'd be to replace it if the sub is worth much.
