I was just wondering where the 9900 fell into the DD line. Obviously it was top of the line, but how did it compare in SQ and SPL to the 9500? Anyone ever heard a 9900?

pretty much the same as a 9500 but different soft parts, the 99 and 95 are about the same spl wise untill you get around 10k+wrms then the 99 takes over, imo not worth the extra money over the 95.

9900 and Z series = SPL subs

9500 = top of the line SQL sub

9100 = SQ sub

DD9900 is supposed to have excellent SQ when set up right. Many on the DD site even told me that with it right would have better SQ from my 9918 than from the 2 9512s. Haven't hooked it up yet to find out, but im hoping itll bang. The 9500s are amazing tho, but I can't really review the 9900 yet. With lots of pwoer it is DDs SPL driver, and the Z series is their top of the line SPL driver.

had 2 2500ds but sold em....im thinkn a DDZ1a sounds nice :-):-):-) If not then a Memphis 4kw or 2 would also work. the coils are dual 1.5 tho.
I'm still needing lots of electrical upgrades tho, its all stock now.
