i'd give a bl about 1200-1500wrms (maybe more) clean power from what i've read about it. personally was thinking of those also and running them each with a sundown 1500d. get hold of kevin at low-hz.com and he'll hook you up. and i'd say yes, you'll probably have to upgrade your charging system.

I think BLs can take about 1500 watts? (somebody correct me if I'm wrong) so any good 1500 watt amp will do.

And yeah you most likely will need an HO alternator for that amount of power.

honestly i would not put 1500rms to a basic BL...a fully loaded one is another monster

ok so some say i would need an alternator and some arent... i read that you only need to if you are running like 1500 or more watts.

Depends on the size of your alt. What car do you have?

General rule is to get an HO alt when running 1000+ watts. Really the only way to tell for sure is to try it and see if your voltage drops below 12.5, but with 1500 watts the chance is very high that you will need an HO alt.

^^^^^ X2

But you could run without it for a little while if you watched your voltage and didn't turn the volume way up.....

With 1500W you are right on the limits of things. Id at least get the flatwind and pole chamfer... anything more than that power wise and Id add the cooling instead of the basic pole chamfer (its included in the cooling). Definitely Daily... SPL option is only for PURE SPL apps that dont see music. Standard lead wire. With the D2 coil you would have the same gapping as the universal... universal is good if you are thinking of changing amps or coil configs. You do loose slight bit of motor strength if you are using one of the smaller OD coils, but we are talking no more than .030" overall... nothing major. Universal is machined for the largest coil OD in that specific driver series. This allows you to recone to any coil size. Otherwise your motor is machined to the coil choice for the correct fit.

Thanks,
Scott
