I tried posting in the other section, but no one is ever on . Anyway, for $250-400 max, what would be the best 6.5" components? I would purchase an amp based on whatever speakers I get. Thanks for the help.

OK...so I'll avoid them. If I get the Jeep I want, there are 6.5s in the rear doors too. I have heard many opinions that say either leave them stock or disconnect them completely. Agree???

in the back hatch? yeah, theres no point there really. if you don't care about passengers, the front stage is all you need to worry about...

Sorry...not the back hatch. It would be a Grand Cherokee so the back two doors. I could put coaxial speakers there, or a midbass like the Kicker SSMB6. Any point?

oh sorry i misread that. well people say that the rear doesn't matter, but i have 6x9's on my rear deck and i can tell the difference. the doors in your jeep are closer compared to in a car's rear, so i'd say to get something to replace the stock...

For the price...Phoenix Gold RSd 6.5 components sound GREAT. They are priced very low and perform great...nice rich, smooth sound...not harsh at all.

I am getting some to replace my old @$$ Infinity Refs.

ok heres wat im gonna recomend you:

get
1 5.5 phoenix gold octane xenon 5.5 about 90bucks on ebay
1 6.5 phoenix gold octane r z rated (important dont get the regular octanes witout the z rated because if so ull get some inline croossovers that are only for the tweeters and mylar tweeters if you get the zrated ull get the crossovers with silk tweeters.
ull spen about 60 bucks on the octanes r z rated.

finally get this amp about 180 on ebay.
phoenix gold octane r 8.0:4 its 75rmsx4 ohms rms

i think including shippin ull be spending about 360 for both components and amplifier.

your best choice :-)

yeah u will not get any bass for the midbass because the crossover will filter out around 85hz and lower notes.

phoenix gold xenon for your front doors.
phoenix gold octane r z rated for backdoors.

Sorry two more things...isn't that amp 125x4RMS at 4ohm?

Also, the amp is hooked up and then the speaker wire is run to the speakers correct? It is routed away from the HU?

OK...Well I will avoid it then. Matching isn't important, just thought it looked good. Everyone is so high on the Kicker monos, so I just assumed the 4 channel would be good as well.
