i have polk mmc6500 components. they have an option to biwire. on the crossovers they have 2 + and 2 - inputs. now is all i need to do is split my + lead into two and put one lead to each positive, and then do the same for the negative leads??

will it mess up the ohms?

no that is not what you do. you would need a 4 channel amp to do that. 2 channels for the mids and 2 channels for the tweeters. you don't split the input wire to each input.

ohhhhhh nvm then.

what you want to do is starting from the receiver speaker output, you would split it. use a thinner wire for the tweeter and thicker for the woofer.

you can also run a cable to the woofer. then get a shorter cable and go from the woofer to the tweeter.

yes.

sorry blaine i thought you were talking about bi amping with car speakers.

but instead of splitting a single cable, use 2 cables.

ok now are we talking about the car components?

if you are, amping the mid and tweeter separately gives you more control. if you set it right, it can sound much better.

the home audio just leave it alone. just do it like that picture. home speakers are very efficient with little power.

didnt read all of this thread..but ussualy when your crossover has 2 sets of inputs its so you can connect different amps or channels to each speaker, tweeter and midrange. there is ussualy a switch on the crossover so you can select parallel or bi-amp. When it is in paralel mode you just need to connect either input...
