Well, i have been thinking about it and studyin up for awhile i have finally talked myself into it. I'm gonna build a 6th order series tuned bandpass box for my 9515d tomorrow.

I already have everything sitting in my shed...screws, glue, 1 and a half sheet of mdf.

Here is the kicker though...i'm gonna build this lil fella w/ interchangable ports and removable panels. Should be interesting.

I have 5-6 designs drawn up so far...slimmed it down to 2 though. Cant deside if i am gonna fire the port up or to the passenger-side wall.

Either way...i'm gonna start out w/ the rear chamber tuned in the mid-30hz range w/ ~40sq in port and the front tuned in the mid-60hz range w/ ~60sq in port. Also, the internal baffle will be 1.5" thick.

Pics will come when (or if) i can get em up...i'm at my dads house and they have dialup...connects at 26.4Kbps :-(

May the box-building gods be w/ me...i'm gonna need it.

lol

Good luck Canaan, never heard of anyone actually making 6th order bandpass before. BTW, about the 8inch subs and box you are gonna sell me, when will you have it ready? I didn't get enough money for Christmas, but if you will let me know ahead of time, I can save up the money.

ok...i didnt get a chance to start on the box the other day, but i am for sure doing it tomorrow.

here is what i'm gonna do:

back chamber (sub mounted in this chamber):
3.6cuft w/ 64 sq inch port tuned to ~36hz

front chamber (36hz port and sub fire into this chamber):
2.75cuft w/ 84 sq inches port tuned to ~66hz

Chad, i did really use any programs to model a BP box...i just studied up and used ISD to figure out port lengths for 2 separate ported boxes.

This box is gonna be pretty dam big....49"x21.5"x17.5". I ditched the idea of interchangable port on this one though...didnt really have the room i needed, but i will have an removable pannel to get the sub in and out.

Well, I got the box like 70% done today. All but 1 cut is done and its partially assembled.

Ended up changing the design alil more...lol...its now 4cuft tuned to 35hz firing into 2.5cuft tuned to 65hz. I also went w/ a triple baffle (2.25") and the sub will bolt in.

The back 4cuft(net) chamber has 52sq inches of port, 2.5cuft(net) chamber has 80sq inches of port. The 80sq inch port is going to be adjustable from 96-72sq inches...i'm gonna start w/ 80sqin first.

The subs magnet will actually be in the 2.5cuft chamber...i had to re-design the box like that so i would have a large enough removable pannel to get the sub in and out.
