nice work TJ. you put a lil too many screws on the box, but its all good. i space every screw around 3-4 inches. and i see a couple screws in the first pic where the are really close to the corner of the box, i would go in about 2-3" before you screw in from the corner, or else ur gonna split ur wood. just some tips.. good job

and klez, when you do homemade ports, you put the enbd of the PVC over a bowl, then heat up the end of the PVC and stick it over the bowl so it flares. put the PVC over the bottom of the bowl

lol ya i know thats alot of screws but i figured if i predrilled all the holes then the wood wouldnt split and it will hold stronger....so i did and i cant wait till it comes in.

just because you pre-drill doesnt mean ur wood isnt gonna split. you just need to be careful on the corners, not to place them too close

like u ran out of screws when u got 2 the back cover -lol

too many screws too close is a bad thing even u predrill

u ever remove some screws & look what happens 2 the mdf ? - it gets split slightly so now if u put them too near its like having a split throughout the length .

Glue is actually what holds the joints together .

Ever tried separating a well glued box ? - joints will almost practically NEVER come apart but wood around it will tear/rip

But good job overall - remember u can also use liquid nails as a joint glue as well as a joint sealer , this is what i do so u kill 2 birds with 1 stone ......

He He dont hate i did it in a hurry before work, and i did glue before i screwed the mdf together it wasnt liquid nails though, where do they sell that??

O and i didnt measure each screw together...it was to time consuming, but over all i think it will hold pretty damn good, i bought some glue from home depot it is the Elmers Multi purpose and it glued my port on pretty well so im sure it glued the box together real good....i predrilled all the holed first then put a thick layer of glue all around where i was gonna screw the board on then i put the board on and screwed those millions of screws so i think it will hold together pretty good.....

o i just noticed the back now he he ill have to add a few...

charlie if u used L/nails then 4get about taking it apart - like i said the mdf will be ripped/busted up but joints wont break

if u want 2 recycle the wood then i suggest u cut along near the joints as posssible with a circular saw .....
