match it to the preouts on your cd player.

max - lower voltage (ex. .2v)

min - higher voltage (ex. 10v)

spin clockwise -lower voltage

find out the preout voltage on your cd player. then set your gain to match that voltage.

if you spin the gain knob all the way to the right, its lower voltage, and the the left is higher voltage. Try to set it as close to the voltage of your cd player as you.

take the square root of the rms rating on that amp for the ohm load you are using..

exmaple: 1000rms

the squre root is 31.62

now take a DMM and select volts.. now change it to AC mode. put the + on the + terminal of your amp and do the same for the - ... turn the gain until you see 31.6 volts on the DMM .. or at least as close as you can get

At least you don't have an Xtant amp, it's real tough when you have a range from 200mv-17v... 8|

no, its the rms you are running, multiplied by the ohm load. if your running 1000rms @ 2 ohms, it will be 44.72 (sqrt of 2000).

setting it with a dmm is just anotehr way to do it. your matching them perfectly with a dmm, instead of estimating.
