so my friend got his new FI Q 12 and he got the hifo 1206D with it. so i hooked it all up for him, and the sq is very very good. i was actually surprised to how good it was. We has on that akon song, "i wana F u" and it freakin was LOUD! i looked in the back of his bmw, and it had soo much excursion, it was insane. so i went inside th car, rolled up the windows, and the single 12 Q, beat out my 2 cvr's. and sounded wayyy better doin it. I am really thinkin about getttin one in the near future. its a very nice sub, i didnt really know what to expect from it, because FI is a new brand and all, but it was very very nice. i really liked it. and it got ridiculously loud for just a single 12. like i said, it was a lil louder then my cvr's 12's. so all in all, i give it a def 10 out of 10. i am going to hear it some more, on some more songs etc, so i will let you guys know. for a single 12 is slammed, and sounded GREAT. it was on a stock HU also
yea, i talked to FI, and they said it really varies. He said he really likes em in ported tuned real low, and then also likes them alot in sealed. either way it sounded great.
and muddy, if i had a sealed box layin around i would just put it in but i dont
if i get a chance i will get em in a sealed box around 1.5 cubes
1. does it hit lowwwww? 2. does it blend in well with the rest of the sound in the car? 3. does it play the higher freq well? 4. does it sound like deep bass or boomy bass?

It did hit very lowwwww he has stock speakers, but i thought it blended very very well, the bass wasnt too overpowering for the highs it sounded like (from the song that we played) that it played a wide range of freq... it would hit real low, and then you would hear it hit very high, i think it hit the frequency's very well. its not boomy bass.
i will def listen to it more, and try some diff, songs it realy is hard to completely judge the overall quality of the sub just on one song. so i will let you guys know
the q is an excellent woofer... like scott put it, it compares to the 04 xxx... (a 15"xxx in a crate packaged up weighs 65 lb...) pound for pound the q hammers it out with less weight.(a 15" q weighs around the mid 30's...) remember! this' important: "sheer size doesn't matter, it's all bout the design encorporated into the woofer, needless to say the q will spank you.
btw wait til the Q start to break in. you will really hear how awesome it sounds. my btl's are sounding better and better everyday. i know the btl's were meant for spl but now that it is starting to break in, the sq is really getting good.
