i thought the box was tuned to 40hz 1.9 cuft but i guess it was 1.8 tuned to 45? so now im going to try 3 cuft and 35hz and see how it sounds. im not sure what a sweep is im very new to this but i know the guy at the shop who metered it had special cds he was playin and he kept messin with everything b4 he metered it. im gunna try a few boxes to see what can give me the most output. any suggestions on a box for most spl outta the one 12?

the higher tuned box will yield higher numbers(most likely) DD reccomends a 40hz tune on that sub also. You need to find out the resonant freq of your car, then build a box to match it and you will get your loudest #'s. If you dynomat propperly you can add a decent amount, and by doubling the power and another sub you could get up close to 150, 150 is not as easy as you think. Proper tuning is crucial.

to find your cars freq. seal the box play a sweep tone and whatever leval it peaks at is close to your cars RF. then tune your box so it will peak at that leval. although you might want to use interchangeable ports because the tuneing my be to high for DD

like i siad

seal your box.

play a sweep of freq.

find what freq is the loudest in your car.

use win isd to calculate what tuning the box has to be at to peak at that freq.
