Gold Member Username: Cenus4, 2 0 Post Number: 2371 Registered: Jan-05 | ok the atlas and ava subs use the xbl2 motor, which is liescnesed by adire, well adire got mad cause evry1 was saying why buy the brahama when you could get the same performance from the ava for half the price, so adire got mad and wouldn't let AA use the xbl2 motor, so AA stopped making the atlas and ava subs, and james says the atlas is better than the assassin. |

Post Number: 537 Registered: May-05 | Well, I talked to Chad from Ascendent Audio (I think that's his name if I remember right) waaaaay back when they were selling off everything that was xbl2. Anyways, they were all the way down to the last avalanche 15's and I was trying to buy one in time, but never did it in time. The point is, he told me that they were paying an undisclosed amount to adire for every subwoofer that they sold (in exchange for the xbl2 technology). Aparently, Adire said publicly that their stuff was far superior in build quality when compared to AA... and that pissed AA off! Chad said (to the best of my recollection): "Why pay them a royalty for each sub sold if they're gonna turn around and bad mouth us! Forget that! We're through doing business with them! It's not the only topology that exists... as a matter of fact we found an old motor design that is actually just as good... and the beauty part is... nobody owns the rights to it... so it's free to use! We're working on perfecting it right now! I'm really excited..." Then, the new AA subs were born... along with the new logo, etc. (just thought I would straighten that out for everyone... the above statement is accurate and true according to Chad's very own words - so help me God) not that it matters, but I just think it's cool how I have some pertinent information for once. lol |
