Anyone know where to get this mag in the Chi?
Tower Records has just been liquidated and I need a new dealer :-)

I went ahead and subscribed, but the first issue won't be here for 6-8wks.
Trying to read the review of the SI Mag.

None of them in Chicago have it. At least none of those I've visisted.

"heard the review was bad, that they didn't give it enough power and wrong box or something..."

Me too. I can't imagine Vance, Eric, or anyone at CA&E ever making this mistake.
In all of the 20 years I've been reading the mag, they have ALWAYS overpowered their drivers.
I've never seen them use under 2000 watts to power any sub.

So, I'm looking forward to finding this issue somewhere. I think I know of a 7/11 on Clark that might still carry it. Teachers are off on Columbus day, soooo... :-)

Got it.
Bob Morrow is an absolute idiot. Either that or one of the big boys paid him off to sabotage the labs on the SI. The reason that Tom Nousaine, Vance Dickason and Eric Holiday use excess wattage is so they can ascertain results from the optimal performance of the driver. This dumb dumb gives the SI 350 watts (presumptuously delivering an actual 450watts) since the sheet included with the sub states the rms as 250-1300w. While in the test review of the Polk SR-12, one page directly behind the mag's review, they pump the Polk with 2000watts. Even though it has a rated RMS of 700watts.

Anyway, I haven't read the review yet, but this is really silly.

At least I found a new spot to cop :-)
