Hey, guys!
I've been gone from this forum for a good while. I come back, and all of a sudden, I'm seeing all these new subs being mentioned left and right... the dude from RE went to work for FI?!?! All kinds of s,h,i,t has gone on, huh?

Please... fill me in!

What's with the FI's and the BTL's and all these other new forum favorites??!! I thought I had my wish list narrowed down - but... nuh uh!

Please... fill me in!

What else is out there now? Gimme all the info, guys!!! lol I've been totally oblivious to all of this. Include websites with your responses, too - ok?

Shoooooooot...
Last time I was here, RE SX and AA Avalanche had the big followings. I thought I was doing good looking at stuff like Sound Splinter rl-p and Pierce Audio WMD...

Tell me more... TELL ME MORE!!!
Thanks a million, everyone!

HAHHAHA, yeah man, I came back here like a month ago after two years, around the same time your talking about. Heres what I discovered so far as the New Underground Subwoofers.

Crystal Audio
Digital Designs got popular and AudioQue
Fi Audio (Owner of RE sold RE and made Fi)

Can't think of anything else.

Main ones that people talk about are the Fi BTL or Q and the AudioQue HD3 and the 2.5

Only site I know is www.audioque.com and maybe www.ddesigns.com

I know ChaunceyBrown's got a thing for Crystal Audio... Digital Designs has always been the s,h,i,t but never affordable by far... Audio Que is supposedly a branch off of DD, right?... and if RE was sold - what is it now? Still RE? Is FI so new that nobody has tried it yet? Are they selling subs at crazy cheap prices cuz they're new???

How does the new stuff rate with the old stuff?
rl-p?
wmd?
crystal?
dd?
audio q?
fi?
re?
treo?
solo x?

Well RE is still RE but scott left RE and made FI, scott (the owner of FI) roams these forums quite a bit you could prolly catch him sometime, the fi btl is supposed to be the new and imporoved mt, chad lee bought 2 15's so he should be able to give a review shortly, the q is also a big hit. but they are really affordadle, the btl fully loaded is just around 500 and that is their highest priced sub
the treo craze has sort of calmed down it was real big at one point. Yes aduioque is kind of a branch off dd, they are seperate companies but made in the same building, the hd3 is from what i hear basically the dd 9500 series w/o the extensive cooloing system. the wmd and all rlp is kinda on the backburner the wmd had a little fad but not huge.
that kinda fills ya in but that is just to the best of my knowlege lol

according to scott it takes around 2 days to put all the mods on and he will ship. since he is in vegas and i am in los angeles, it should only take like 2 days to get here. the ups tracking info has been generated but hasn't been picked up yet. it is going to be insane when it gets here.

ok... ok... back to the subject, guys!
lol
thanks for everyone's input... but popularity aside... which ones of all the subs actually measure up to be the prime choices??? The old stuff or new stuff or which stuff?

I know the wmd had a little spurt of popularity, but all of the good ones did, right? I wanna know which ones are the actual PUNISHERS!!! I can't afford over $500... so 1 $500 sub or 2 $250 subs is best I can do. Don't bother comparing anything more expensive - cuz I'll never get it...

thanks again, everyone

Well, for now, I plan on using my 900 watt mono class D amp (ran at one ohm). I have another amp too... but that won't be going to the sub/subs.
I'm definately going for SPL or SQL... I want the one that PUNISHES!!! You know what I mean...

Oh yeah, and if the Audio Que compares to the DD9500... except without the integrated cooling system... is the price difference the value of the cooling system??? We're talking under $400 compared to $1400! Are you guys SURE it compares to the DD9500?!

Dont forget about the subs from Massive Audio. Here is my video on their CW 12 that can be reconed by yourself if need be by removal of a few screws... at least check it out for amusement sake. Did a 145.8 with one 12 off of a MTX 1501 in a 45 hz tuned daily beater box.

Enjoy.

damn... that was one long and drawn out bullshit session!
Didn't you feel jipped when they ended up NOT giving the results after initially INSINUATING that they would?! I DID!!! F,u,c,k,i,n,g jokers!!! lol
I think the DD won... don't you? Granted, there's probably some variable or circumstance that will be blamed... but oh well. Then again -maybe the AQ won (I don't know much about it... but at that price difference - come on, right?)
Anyways, thanks for the link...

So, anybody else got some info for me?
It doesn't even have to be about the 3 subs dominating the thread. Just fill me in, please. This is my attempt to upgrade my knowledge and get back into the fast lane... I still feel like I'm lagging - I gotta admit!

Thanks again... keep it coming.

More input. MORE INPUT. MOOOORE IIINPUUUT!!!!!
