If you're into SQL, then I'd pick JL13W7 hands down. If you design the box carefully, 2 13W7 is enough to rattle your car.

you are gonna need a lot of power if you are getting the 2 solo X's. i'd do what isaac said and stick with the jl's. the jl's will definately sound better and has the potential to real loud too with much less power than the solo Xs.

Solo X if your going for more of a SPL setup.
W7's if you want more SQ yet still can get loud.

hey i would definitely NOT go with the solo-x's. i have a buddy who had two of them powered by two kx2500.1 and it was f*cking loud but had NO SQ WHATSOEVER. JL13w7 are very nice subs, but if you're gonna spend that much, i would broaden my horizon as far as brands. try to find some RE, DD or TREO subs. The treo entry level subs have the same amount of excursion as the W7's, (about 1") which means that the treo enrty level subs will move just as far as the w7's but with less power (the rms wattage of an entry level tsi treo is around 400 watts). if i had a clean slate, i would try something like two treo tsx or ssi 12's with a true 1500W rms amp.

In the Solo X's defense.

KICKER's most advanced subwoofers ever, the SoloX has been engineered with serious autosound competitors in mind. The SPL levels can get brutal in the lanes (many interiors have buckled under SoloX pressure), but the SoloX has already earned its sound-quality stripes too, winning IASCA and USACi SQ world championships. That means they sound good... really good.-Straight off Kicker's Website.

My Solo X actually sounds decent in my opinion .

SQ is totally subjective (as you can see from the above comments) so try to listen to both setups if you can and see what you think for yourself.

the box is the main thing with subs. it'll determine how the sub will sound more so then the sub (to a point).
