looking for cheap and cheerful BASS. Have two bass tubes in mind:

OR

Are bass tubes decent? Do they sound rubbish or just as good as bass boxes?

Thanks

well dude, if you take a look, both of those are 110 watts rms.....in other words...crap. I had an OLD sparkomatic (old wal-mart brand) in a jeep I used to own, and I thought it was pretty good. Until I got into car audio equipment and got a better system. Save your money up and get a good system. How much are you planning on spending? For about $300-$350 you can get two 10 or 12 inch Assassins >>> www.ascendantaudio.com and an audiobahn a8000t amp... for a pretty nice system...and build the box yourself for probably less than $100.

You're right. It sounded rubbish. So does the Alpine 6.5" module which you can place under your seat or in the front of the car. I took it to its peak and then after a while of adjusting the gain it began to sound like a vibrating number plate on a car. Better off with a 12" I guess.

It is a small car. Don't want serious bass but want some.. there is an Infinity amp, sub and box package for £150... think that is $200+ for you guys... will try that out.

Thanks

Infinity is a good brand to go with, are you from India ? or the UK ? what other choices do you have out there, cause ebay could get you much better stuff at cheap prices

UK dude... just that the Indians only went and did a comedy version of Superman hence the name.

Well the budget now stands at £200 max. So I was thinking JBL or Infinity.

The website I am using is this:

May be Alpine. I have to arrange a demo.

If those are you only choices, and your spending limit I would probably choose,

I reccommend going with Alpine Type R's but those aren't the newer ones so you might want to look at getting the newer model
