These amps any good at all?

hifonics bxi 2006 2000 watt amp and a hifonics bxi 2006 1600 watt amp............do these amps really put out 2000 and 1600 RMS watts!!! cuz i had a 1600 watt power acoustik amp that only did like 650 to 700 and does these hifonics amp get hot when they are at 1 ohm?

hifonics are good, they are a bit underrated, they do around 80% of there rated power....

they are overrated, not underrated Logan if they only do 80% of their rated power, lol.

well what amp should i get then cuz im gettin a atomic apxx 18 subwoofer are they really good subs and better than 15 L7's? anyways what amps should i get to go with that sub im wantin to get like 4 amps to put on the sub or 2 or 3 but i want them to have alot of power in them so what do yall suggest for a good price?

PA amps are ok but id rather go with Hifonics.

Someone on ca.com had their 1606 benched at 1300w. Not sure on the voltage, but that would indicate that 20% over rated is about right. Still a pretty good amp considering the price.

well opti that's kinda weird, cuz bassman saw one doing 1500w+ hehe, but they're still overrated. Lil rob told you about the sub tyler??

bench tests always vary. Ever seen two birthsheets that are exactly the same measured power?? I'm sure such a thing has happened somewhere, but I've never seen it.
Just because one amp does xxxx watts, doesn't mean the next one off the line won't do 20% more.

Also, unless the power's measured using an 0-scope to monitor clipping, THD and the Voltage being supplied - who knows how accurate the measurement really was.

So - it seems they're a little over-rated, but close enough to be pretty good amps (power-wise) for the cost.

I have a Hifonics 1606D and I can't run it with stock alternator at a idle...also...it blows 80 amp fuses like no tomarrow..lol...also I am runnin her at 1 ohm...to a 15" mojo and I prolly drove 2 hours...going at it...and the amp was warm...but not hot at all...shes was doing good I was impressed!!

y do u have a 80A fuse on a '1600wrms' amp ??

my mb quart raa1000 1000wrms had 3 40A fuses on it & never blew any fuse/s on my distro block .....

lol halter start using 100 to 120 amps on the fuse then u should be fine
