I have made the decision to spend a cool 2 grand on a new system replacing my current one...which seriously needs to be upgraded. As I am never pleased and constantly see upgrade needs in my system. I was thinking about this set-up...would love opinions....Thanks Alot!

Amp - - Phoenix Gold Octane R 5 Ch 900 Watt Amp
Head Unit - - Clarion DXZ855MP
Sub - - JL Audio 10W7
Comp Set - - Diamond Audio S500s
Rear Fill - - Diamond Audio D391i

Now I have a 2001 Buick LeSabre..which is a fairly large car....so I did not want a frotn stage set up....I wanted rear fill...as the cabin is pretty huge.

Give me your opinions fellas! Thanks!

What I meant by that comment is that I wanted the rear fill...no just the front stage set-up as in just comps in the front...no speakers in the back

That amp pushes 400 bridged I think....so what two 12's would you recommend?

Yeah, definitely get some 12's.

And rear fill even in a car like that will hurt the soundstage-I guarantee if you set up the front stage correctly, you won't need rear fill.

while this is a good guide

if u still decide u would like rearfill - do not amp them ,choose low wattage speakers & power them off ur deck .....

Thats alot Rovin and Jexx...for your input and suggestions....I have one more question to ask...what 12's should I use for the amp above? How would it be wired since it is 400 watts bridged?

Are you set on running the subs off that amp? The sub you posted you'd need to be running a seperate amp that puts out more power and like they said theres better for the price. Noticed the W7, going for sound quality? I'd get a seperate amp to power the subs but I can't really give an options for those until we know what your looking for. 10s, 12s, 15, are you set on just 1 or willing to have more. Btw, I own that headunit, sounds great.

Ok, I was not sure if the 400 watts on that sub was RMS or not...it was Peak...it only puts out around 200 rms...so I am definately going to need a different amp. Kevin, how about these two amps....
Phoenix Gold R8.0;4 for the comps and midbass
Phoenix Gold R5.0;1 for the sub

And yes I am going for SQL...any other reccomendations besides the W& for SQL?

yea i know...but wasnt really looking to spend that kind of money...but i actually decided to go a diff. route with this project amp wise....I currently have a JL 500/5....I am thinking about just buying another JL amp preferrably the JL 500/1 to run the 10 inch JLw7 and rather than the diamond audio comps I stated earlier...i would get the JL Audio XR525CSi and for the back 6x9's for real fill some middrange JL Audio XR570CW....what do you think Rovin?

I think you need to ditch the W7 idea and get a set of Treo SSi. Then get a nice 2000 watt amp and have fun. For the price of the W7 you can get two SSi probably. Would be better I suppose. Two grand isnt really that much to spend. But we can make it work for you :-) As for the HU... You could get a Pioneer DEH880. Those look sooo sexy

Yea I don't think that the W7 is good bang for the buck...I would go with the Treo's as well from what I have heard.Hey Pl4yboy do you play warcraft3 under the account Demon_Pride?

Are there any other SQL subs I should look into?

BTW I am only planning on pushing 500 RMS to a sub...not 2000w which the Treo requires..

So basically I am looking for a subwoofer for SQL in the range of 500-800rms

i second the RL-p,Crystal Comp, and the ID, not IDq.:-)

the IDQ is even more of a SQ sub than the ID.(ID has more xmax)
