I am installing a 1000w rms amp with a 3000w max output, along with a subwoofer with the same specs, into my 2003 alero. My alternator puts out 105 amps. I am concerned that the amp is going to put too much strain on my system and start shutting down electrical components around my car. Is this a valid concern and if so, what can I do to support the new amp and sub? Thanks.
1000 rms is notenought to shut down elecical components in your car, expecially with a 105a alt already. the worst that will happen is lite your lights will dim a lil bit, but i dont think they will with that big of alt
