Ok, who makes a good amp that is worth the money? I am in the process of designing a system for my truck but I want to make sure I do this right. I want to put the correct equipement in the first time so I am not going back at this again in a couple of months.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks.

don't really have a budget, just whatever sounds good. I don't want to go over $3000 though if I don't have to but I am willing to overlook that if it means I have a well done system

thats a pretty big budget, are you installing all yourself? What type of music do you listen to?

You say a truck... what kind of truck, will you be wanting to use a stealth-prefabricated box for your the subs? You might want to consider getting a customized built box (if you don't decide to do it yourself)... if you want to maximize or retain the most space in your truck.

Off the top of my head, if your install doesn't limit the size of subs, I'd say look at Digital Designs, Treo, RE, IDMax or what local dealers are able to sell you - nice to have warranties with your expensive equipment.

Amplifiers vary - there is a list somewhere on this forum that has highly recommended brands to look for and ones to steer clear of... just do a search. If I had to give suggestions, get an ho alternator and grab either a Zapco, JL, Arc Audio, Autotek MM, Orion, DLS, so many you can honestly choose from but I'd look at local dealers if you can so you can grab that warranty as I have said.

Components... Rainbow, Focal, CDT, Diamond... sure there are others too. I am sure you gonna need a HO alternator and the BIG 3 with anything I've suggested - good luck, I wish I had the difficulties you will be facing! :-) keep bumpin'

Thanks for the info. In answer to any/all questions, my plan is to do the install myself, I have not done one ever so this will be a nice learning for me. As far as the truck goes, I am getting a 2006 GMC Sierra 2500. My plan is to get it without the BOSE system in it as i don't want to mess around with the removal of all of that junk. I think for a head unit, i am going to stick with either Pioneer Premier or Alpine, those are the only ones I am liking right now. As far as the sub enclosure goes, I have found one by subthump.com that holds 2 10" subs under the rear seat, I think I like that and will go with that.
