i dont think many people have heard either woofer ... the ones that have will let u know ...

i personally have never heard the ssx before .. but from what i have heard from others its a fantastic sub

i have however heard a system with MTs ... the sub had dual 1.4 coils i believe with an orion 2500d on each running at .7 ohms ... and my god it was loud ...

but in all honesty .. in order to make a decision .. hearing these subs would be the only way to have an educated guess ... see if theres a autorized dealer in ur area .. within driving distance ... if ur that serious to drop dough on subs .. u will do wahtever u can to make the rigth decision

i have heard 2 12" SSX's

they are LOOOOOUUUUUUUDDDD.
and they get INSANELY low.

they will outperform an MT ANY DAY OF THE WEEEEEEEEk in SQL, b/c believe it or not....the SSX is a street bass subwoofer.

the MT is a comp sub. meant for tone bursts.

give an SSX roughly 2500-3000wRMS in a big ported box and watch it shine.:-)

damn son ... that mustve been ungodly .. with the right electrical those amps have been know to produce upwards of about 3300 ... they are dough but they arent producing that line any more so u can find a good used one for about 5-600 dollars .. another amplifier to take a look at is the incriminator audio 20.1 ... i saw that amp pushing an 06 12 xxx ... and it was ridiculous ... from incriminator is runs about 6-700 dollar depending on the dealer :-)

ive heard both the MT and the SSx. in my opinion the SSx is a much better everyday driver sub, while the MT would win in SPL for comps. even tho the SSx doesnt look like it, it has very good SQ for a woofer that takes 3000+ watts. ive heard 2 15s tuned to 30hz and it is the lowest and hardest hitting 2 sub setup ive heard by far. you really cant go wrong with either sub but i would take the treos.
