this may sound stupid put i can't think of a better way to put it into words but, what is technically wrong with a blown subwoofer? i ordered a blown 10" type r off of ebay for a dollar and i hooked it up free air and it sounds and plays fine.

when i put my face close to it while it is playing it smells kinda funny but that's all that seems to be wrong with it

when the subwoofer hits lows, it claps and sounds really bad.. my blown type r's would sound fine until I hit lows, just recone it.

well i've heard somewhere that a blown sub will sound scratchy when you press on the cone and this one doesn't make that noise.

and i don't think that it sounds clappy or sounds bad on lows, becuase i was playing "beats for my van" aka the jackhammer song and it sounded fine. would that just be because it is free air?

i think i might of just made one he11 of a deal, lol.
