need info my kicker amp keeps shutting down i have a 600.1 amp running a 2 lower end end kicker subs can somone help

Check your 'gains' and make sure you aren't running it at a low ohm impedance it can't handle.

How long does it take to shut off? Does it get hot? How long have you had the amp and when did the problem start occuring?

it"ll pop on and off as soon as it gets power like a poping noise goes right into protection i had the amp like 6 months and the problem just started last week

It sounds like something got fried, namely the output transistors...open it up and see if any of the components are physically damaged.

disconnect your subs and try to turn it on and see if it stays on

lavenderboy my amp did that when i blew my rca outs on the back of my radio messing with it on the ground came loose so the amp grounded itself through the rcas and fried em amd it made my amp pop amd go into protect instantly when id turn it on

well i disconnected my subs and the amp is still doing the same thing i think it might be something wrong with the amp so what amps beside kicker is a good brand what do you's think

thats weird that you would have fired the kicker amp. what subs did you have?? and the VC configuration

ok now i have 2 kicker subs in a sealed box they are both 4 ohm subs what kind of amp do i use and do i have to wire them to 2 ohm ? please answer that question or what amp to buy if i leave them at 4 ohm ?if possible just learning...be nice

if they are dual voice coil, then no, you can wire two 4 ohm subs to a 2 ohm load. it cannot be done.

you need to wire to a 1 or 4 ohm load

play around with this seriously, its a great tool.
