what is the diference between 2-ohm and 4-ohm amp or sub? when can i know which one i have to use?

thats the impedance. its how much "resistance" the circuit is making or whatever. if your sub is a 4 ohm sub, you wire it at 4 ohm if 2 then at 2 ohm, you can also do 1 ohm on some subs/amps. if you have a dual voice coil, you have options.

^^^ nope. a 4 ohm sub wires to a 2 or 8 ohm load, and a 2 ohm subs wires to a 1 or 4

It all depends on how many coils the sub has.
