So I jsut put a new amp on my kicker fronts. And when the were hooked up to my HU after a few mintues of playing them really hard ( no distortion) the tweeters would give out and now why my new amp they give out within about 10 seconds. They are lower end kickers and that may be the problem. THe highs come back after what seems to be a "cooling off" period. I plan on buying some infinity components though since by dad jsut bought some for his blazer. This hobby jsut keeps sucking more and more money out of me. I think it's safe to say that it is now and addiction

Are they coaxials? It might have a tweeter protection system built in.

Wahl - you could make your own crossovers. :-) Or if you dont want to do that, does your crossover have a switch? For like +-3dB etc? If so try using that and see if it helps.

Also - at lower volume, do they still cut out?

For under $200, I replaced my infinities with some CDT Neo's.. I couldnt be happier with the switch, either! :-)

(BTW in my previous question - I meant to ask if they were componets, not coaxials)

Hmmm... I'm not sure how CDT's coaxials are...but I'm in love with the componets. :-)
