Decide between 8" jbl or kicker

bassfishing Silver Member Username: Langless28 Boston, MA Post Number: 621 Registered: Dec-04	Posted on Thursday, June 29, 2006 - 04:39 GMT im helping (well desiging) a system for my friend, he has a 96 gti. was in some despret need of help, he wanted to get sony's. under his parameters i came up with this, any comments would be great. two jbl gto804 8inch subs and a jbl gto6011.1II amp wired to 2 ohm. sould i tell him to get the two jbl 8 inch's or some kicker comp vr05cv84's 8"?

USA Post Number: 1059 Registered: Apr-05	Posted on Thursday, June 29, 2006 - 05:12 GMT No offense, but a GTI has plenty room for a subwoofer. 8" drivers are used where bigger subs and/or enclosures are limiting design. I would advise to get a single 12" in a ported box, or a 15" in a sealed box. As far as JBL or kicker is concerned, its a toss-up. JBL used to be something in the 80's, not so today. Kicker has somewhat stayed the same.

If at all possible i would go with a sub though also.
