What was the very first system that you guys have put together? How did it perform? Would you consider using the brands that you had in your first system in the future?

When I first started getting into systems, I really didn't know much about them but, over time, I learned more. My first system was in a 1993 Ford Thunderbird and it contained:

Sony Head Unit (2004 model)
4 5x7 sony speakers (2005 model)
1 DUB100 Subwoofer (2004 model)
1 DUB100 Subwoofer (2005 model...)
1 BOSS IQ Amplifier (don't know the model number but it was a 1600 watt 4-channel amp)

The Sony head unit wasn't too bad. The speakers were horrible! They had very little bass and it was hard to hear the music unless I really turned up the volume. Yes, I had DUB's, but, they weren't too bad either. they weren't too loud but, they hit......ok...When i first got them, I didn't realize that one of them was a newer model untill I looked at the basket...I didn't notice that on Ebay they were different models, but "oh well" I said, as long as I have something...(ya, learned my lesson there...) The BOSS amplifier was actually pretty good. The only problem I had with it is that i would get really hot within 30 min and I always kept blowing fuses. If it had a fan to keep it cooler, I would have concidered on keeping it...I sold everything with my Thunderbird and now im starting over in my Jimmy S-15 (with better knowledge on what to buy) I wouldn't recomend anything from Sony, Audiobahn (except the Intake Series amplifiers), or BOSS...

Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1D pushed by an Alpine MRD-M500. I still have both and that amp is awesome. I'm going to give it to my brother so he can use those things in his car as his first setup since no one wanted to buy either. :D

my first and current system

Stock Dodge Neon AM/FM CD Player HU
Stock front speakers
2-10 inch Alphasonik Q-Reference series subs
A 350Watt Visonik amp (220wattsx1@2ohms)
Stock Rear speakers <unhooked
and most recently added 2-6 1/2 inch speakers in seperate boxes with small tweeters. Wired these to the old stock speaker wires for the rear speakers. Now I can open my trunk and have both bass and music coming out if I want to listen to it that way.

I'm VERY satisfied with mine... Although i dont think I'm going to stay with my brands.

(2) RE SX 12
(1) Kicker KX 2500.1
(2) Infinity 6.5's
(1) Pioneer Premeir 780

And I'm VERY VERY happy. Although I do need a set of coax's for behind my seats... Stupid single cab trucks.
