Well Im tryin to decide from those two subs what would be a better deal. I already have the MTX, but Im not sure if I like it. I used to have an older Type R but the MTX doesnt seem like it sounds as good as I remember the Type R sounding.

Since Im having doubts on the MTX, a friend offered to buy it from me for a little less than what I bought it for and throw in a little amp I could use to power my components. So what do you guys think would be my best bet? Keep the MTX, or sell it for money and another amp, buy a new Type R and have money left over in my pocket??

chauncey brown your a very picky person saying alpine and mtx suck when they are both very good brans mtx makes nice amps and alpine make well more of SQ subs which explains why the type R isnt the loudest sub out their but it also sounds good. If u listened to my type X in my install u would love it i had it in a crappy vehicle one that wasnt made for sound and i had it still pounding good it was hitting 135db which is really loud and if i had it in a better car it be closer to 140 damn good for a sq sub!

"chauncey brown your a very picky person saying alpine and mtx suck when they are both very good brans mtx makes nice amps"

When did i say that????? Never once did i say either sux...i just said that there is much better equipment...why waste ur money on a average *brand* just save up and get a great *brand*....I agree mtx makes good amps....but really who doesnt?? a watt is a watt.....

Also if ur hitting 135 what is ur box tuned to...was this bassrace or just on burps????

Also if u like ur type x that is all that matters...but i doubt that if i heard it in ur ride i would like it...because i have heard better....
