i dont think wire is just wire. As you have seen, oxygen free coper wire usually has a clear insulation and the wire is bright and shiny underneath the see throgh insulator. Well... It is nice and shiny for a while but after a short time (actually from the time it is drawn), it starts to oxidize (unless the wire is kept in an oxygen free atmosphere). When copper oxidizes, it becomes a less effective conductor. This means that, in time, the wire's current carrying capabilities will become significantly reduced.

so you really need to look at the wires because some wires will say they are OFC, but they really are not. just puttin that out thier :-)

i have seen plenty of wires (from two diff brands) and one always oxidizing faster than the other. knukoncepz have alot better QUALITY of wire. IMO

the knu kolossus wire is extra big like the 4 gauge is actually 3 gauge. you get more wire for your money that way. i got some and am really happy with it. if looks are not important get some welding wire, it is about $20 for 25' but you can only buy it in 25' increments. i agree with wreak havoc the knu wire does look nice...

if you are just looking for power wire...i would go w/ welding cable

www.weldingsupply.com

i got 25ft of 2ga from then awhile back...it was over sized (had a hard time getting it in a 2ga terminal on the amp) But their prices have gone up some recently...copper prices are higher now.

That $35 amp kit from KnuKoncepts is a great deal if you are needing RCA's and stuff too though.

KnuKoncepts
eKo 4ga - $0.89/ft
eKo 1/0 - $2.05/ft
Kolossus 4ga - $1.15/ft
Kolossus 1/0 - $2.59/ft

Welding supply
#4 black - $0.76/ft
#4 red - $0.80/ft
1/0 black - $1.79/ft
1/0 red - $1.89/ft
2/0 black - $2.32/ft
2/0 red - $2.34/ft
