Monday, June 05, 2006 - 15:41 GMT What will happen if I use a line driver to increase my pre-outs to 8V when my amp is only rated up to 4V? Can I still use this line driver?

Monday, June 05, 2006 - 22:08 GMT you'd set the gain to 4v it will work fine, but you'd get clipping somewhere around 1/2 volume on your HU.

Tuesday, June 06, 2006 - 20:08 GMT yeah, it would be loud - your amp would be producing maximum output at that point, and no - you may not get to 1/2 volume to reach the listening level you want. You would just want to have in mind that the possibility of damaging your subs would be one twist of the volume knob away.
