ok i'm looking for some good, loud side speakers. there are some alpines:

Alpine SPR-17LP
6-1/2" Type-R Coaxial 2-Way Speaker:

• 250W Peak Power
• 50W RMS
• Frequency Response: 35Hz -- 30kHz
• Multi-Layered Hybrid Fiber Cone
• Linear Drive Magnet Motor Structure
• Lightweight Rubber Surround
• High-Strength Steel Frame
• 1" Soft Dome Tweeter with Tuned Back-Chamber in Point Source Configuration

or

Alpine SPR-17LS
6-1/2" Type-R Component 2-Way Speaker:

Crossover Attenuation Level : 0db, -3dB, -6dB
Crossover Size (in) : 2-9/16" x 4-3/4" x 1-3/8" (WxHxD)
Crossover Size (mm) : 65mm x 120mm x 35mm (WxHxD)
Frequency Response : 35Hz - 30kHz
Impedance (Nominal) : 4 ohm
Woofer Mounting Depth (in) : 3"
Woofer Mounting Depth (mm) : 76.2mm
Woofer Mounting Diameter (in) : 5-21/64"
Woofer Mounting Diameter (mm) : 135.2mm
1" Soft Dome Tweeter
Feather Light Silk Dome Tweeter
Flush & Surface (W/swivel) Mounting Kits
Neodymium Magnet
External 12dBHP/6dBLP Crossover with Tweeter Protection and Level Adjustment

I can obviously tell the second one is better, because it produces 20 more RMS watts and it's 50$ more haha, but other than that can somone tell me the difference? im kidna new to audio and such, all i want is a set of good speakers to go with my sub im putting in. thanks

Component set is separate tweet+midbass

Coax is tweet and midbass "sitting" together

with components, you want to power them with a dedicated amplifier also. so u will be spendin more, but they do sound nice

ok, well i dont think i will be getting any amp soon, so i doubt i will go with the components quite right now, ill get some coaxiles for now and when i do get an amp and components, i will just move the coaxiles to the back i guess

i'm a CDT dealer and only difference between those coax's are models from one year to the other. Pretty much same speaker. What is your price range and i'll see if I can get something more in your range. Also as far as components/coax go, the component set is made for high power ratings and also typically has better crossover setups. A few coax do now come with passive crossovers but for the most part most 90% of coax use resistors while components use a cluster of inductors, resisters and the sort to create crossover points and slopes. Components are the better way to go but coaxs are cheaper.

my price range is probably about 125$ max for a pair, and i would probably go with some coaxs just because im not going to get an amp for these speakers quite yet.
