I have a ford ranger extended cab and i was wondering how these set ups would compare?

1) 2 Kicker 12" L7s in a 4 cu ft box tuned to 35hz with one Kicker SX1250.1 powering both

2) 1 RE 15 MT in a 4.3 cu ft box tuned to 35hz with an Orion 2500D powering it

Im wondering in mostly SPL but if possible or comparable the SQ of each.

no i dont think you can. i guess if you dont want to get the full potential out of the sub then yea you could build a small box. lol

L7 and MT dont compare look at the price difference, and the companies

alright thanks guys and i have a 2001 ford ranger xlt which has the fold down seats behind the driver and passenger seats that with using the Wedge Enclosure 2 from http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp with a width of 30", depth of 14.75" height 1 of 14.75" and height 2 of 27" you get i guess 4.2 i can fit bigger if needed but would like not to so do you guys think 4.2 cu ft would be good for a 15" MT with 2500 watts

u guys are funny, not only does the L7's have more cone area, they also have more power...The L7's would be a better spl setup, Also the mt is not meant for daily use....

Isaac uses his for daily use.:-)

but that does not mean that the MT setup would be louder. i agree with Chauncey.

CB is correct, 2 L7 12s has way more surface area than a single 15" MT!! The L7s will get louder if u want straight spl, because of their added cone area, and being square give them extra too..

Just curious but which would win in SPL out of 1 15" L7 vs 1 15" MT both off the same power to make it even?

how much power????

Because u can burp a L7 off a big amp,it might blow, it might not..That same amp may not make a MT move at all...Depends

1000-1500rms, I would take the L7, it still has more cone area

anything above that the MT would murder a L7
