my friend has this amp and we are trying to decide what sub to get him, his box is like 1.5 cu ft tuned to like 38-40 hz (pre-fabricated)

i was thinking about having him get a type-r but them i thought mabey that amp dosnt have enought power for it, then i thought about a kicker CVR, which would be better on his amp? he wants SQL.

what else should we look at for him?

maybe a eclipse AL http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=1993 you can probally find them cheaper on ebay, or maybe a diamond d3 http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=2842 or you could go with the cvr or type r, personally i'd go eclipse but every1 has different tastes.

well would a type-r be any louder than a CVR on that power? because if not then i dont really think he would wanna spend the extra 40 bucks or whatever

i'd pick a 12" cvr cause u wont get the full effects out of a R with that power ......

my amp is rated at 400wrms @ 2ohm (MTX MXA4001) but the birthsheet says around 500wrms. I got an additional 100wrms out of it. R is rated at 500, I know it can take more, but at least I'm matched. Can guarantee the same on all amps tho

how much is he getting the cvr for, if he can afford it i'd get the eclipse over the cvr and type r. if i had to choose between the cvr and type r i'd go cvr, imo better sq and spl than a type r.
