Breaking in a sub??

ive heard that your suppose to break in a sub....but how do u do it , or is it just a rumor??i jsut ordered a comp VR 12" a couple days ago, and i was just wondering.....

debated topic. the only thing we KNOW is that a subs suspension loosens up as it breaks in which helps air move over the coils and the excess glue bruns off. a good way to break it in is let it play a 20hz tone freeair at a moderate volume for a while. or you could just listen to it for a week and be careful with the volume.

its a myth. some people think you should some people dont. i keep my HU on low to medium volume for 3-5 days before i start crakin it up.

play it at a moderate level for about a week or two before really cranking it up. that's what i've been told before by dealers. but i'm not sure if you really have to break in a sub or not, some people think you do, others don't.
