I've got 2 S12L5's hooked up underneath my desk ... powered by a crown xls-602, and using a marantz 2230 as a pre-amp... for some reason it seems when theres weight at a certain spot beside the box they are a lot louder... by a lot i mean if theres no weight there, then theres basically no movement at all when volume is at max, and when there is weight there, at about 40% on the reciever the subs are pretty much hitting xmax... and sometimes when i move the reciever a bit it'll do the same... when i press on the casing of the reciever in the right spot it'll fix it...
I'm lost as to what the hell is going on... Anyone have an idea?
Wiring problem it sounds like. You prolly have a bad connection somewhere. The weight on/in the box could cause the wires to shift and make that connection. Moving the reciever could also do that.
