I have downloaded at speed greater than 360KB/s which shocked the heck out of me because I use to have WinMx and they were so slow. I am using the paid pro version, don't knwo if that means anything...Polo. |

Bearshare is the exact same idea, with one major difference: It actually works well. Lilrob said it best ^ ^ ^. Bittorrent is also great, but not as user friendly as just opening bearshare and searching. Whether you pay for it or not, both work great. If you don't get the paid one, put a registry blocker on your comp before you install it, so it will stop the adware from being installed. (Go to www.download.com and get SpyDoctor, it comes with TeaTimer and it lets you say "Allow" or "Deny" changes as they happen to your registry. So when you install bearshare, a pop up comes and says do you want to allow "VVSN.exe" and you say deny and check the box for remember this decision. Then you have bearshare for free with no ads. Bearshare operates on many networks and ties them all together, for the most sources and most search results. Limewire sucks so bad it won't even download some of the files you find no matter how many times you say "find more sources". LOL. Bearshare is so good that you leave it open overnight, come back, and every single file you had in your download list is all completed. (I search for like 100 files at once, download them all, wake up the next morning and they are all there.) |
