what amp do you have. someone that worked for JL told me that if your running 2 W6's on a JL 1000/1 (which is what is the right amp for them) they would be louder than a pair of JL W7's with one of those amps. my guess is cuz you need more watts for the W7s to get louder. so if thats true then you need to buy more amps or a bigger one if you wanna go with the W7's.

as of right now, each sub on 1 jl 500/1, im planning to just buy a 1000/1 rather then using 2 jl 500/1

well if you already have the amps for the W6's then whats the point of buying anotehr amp since its putting out the same power? thats a waist cuz im sure you cant sell the amps for a grand.

Johnny B, DON'T ditch those 500/1's!! Get a 300/4 for your components, and put it in the middle of the 2 500/1's for the tightest amp rack ever!!!!!

They all line up symmetrical and beautiful!

reason why im plannin to buy a jl 1000/1 because if i was to buy one single 12w7. The 500/1 would not give it enough power.
The problem is that if whenever i decide to upgrade to a larger sub the jl 500/1 would not give enough power to it.

yeah you have 2 of them right. 500=500=1000. so why sell those and get the 1000/1 when you can keep those and get the same amount of power. dont spend more money to get the same power

you can not connect the 2 jl 500/1 for one 12w7. You can do it for only the 13w7 i believe. Well thank for everyone reponse. Ima just keep this setup for a couple of week since i just install it for about 2 week only.
Each day i just want to do something new with my setup. just want to play around with different type of sub and amp. It's hard to keep one setup for a long time.

you should have gotten 13w6v2's if you don't think your 12's are loud enough for you....
