i want to know how to wire them up. they are in series/parallel right now at 4 ohms but they sound like crap if i wire them in parallel/parallel jl says they will be at 1 ohm and i dont think my amp can handle 1ohm its a mtx801d

three 6 ohm subs?
in straight parallel that would be 6/3 = 2 ohms
go for it

series/parallel or parallel/parallel

parallel/parallel and just so you know you dont have to use it twice just say parallel

you are wrong you can run the subs in parallel seperately then run them in parallel together

Are you trying to say you can wire the coils in parallel, and you can wire the subs in parallel to the amp?
may as well just say straight parallel, but I think we all get the idea.

if they are 3+3 ohm DVC subs, wire the coils in series to get three 6 ohm subs
then wire all three straight to the amp in parallel for your 2 ohm load

it is just parallel. parallel is the final outcome of the way in which you wire the subs. if you wire each sub in parallel then it would go straight to the amp (if there are enough outputs). series parallel is called this because you are wiring each sub using parallel and a series. YOU ARE WRONG!!!

if the coils are in series, and the subs are in parallel, it'll be series-parallel wiring, since it's still all one circuit.

is there a point to this?
