RE 12" SE or SX for JL 500/1

What would be the best out of these two? Considering the 500/1 actually puts out 550-600w RMS. Will I be underpowering the SX, or can I still get full/near full output from the woofer??? Also, can someone suggest a cheaper Class D 500W RMS amp, but same/near quality as the 500/1 (for a friend of mine). Many thanks.
