I will be getting my orion 2500d soon and am ready to start upgrading my electrical system. What type or how many batteries should I get? I am will to spend around 450 on batts. I was thinking 2 of the biggest optima yellow tops. What do you guys think about stinger car audio batts?

assuming that you have a stock alternator, i think you would be better off upgrading your alternator and getting 1 battery than just getting 2 batteries cuz if ou have 2 extra batteries, your stock alternator is gonna have a hard time recharging them. im not an expert but it seems like a more logical solution. correct me if im wrong

Already ahead of you. I already have a 250 amp alternator. Just need the batts.

And yes, the alternator is always the first thing to upgrade in you electrical system along with the "big three" wires. Then batt(s). Then a cap after everything else.

also if you get more batts. make sure you wire them in parallel, not series cuz it will fry your amp
parallel will increase capacity
series will double voltage
