Ground loop isolator?

I asked on here a couple days ago about a ground loop isolator, I want to make sure a ground loop isolator is what I need.

The problem I'm having is a small humming noise when my system is on. If I turn the HU off, the noise goes away, but when its on, it is persistent. The noise continues when the car is off (so I have ruled out alternator whine).

Earlier today, I went and pulled out all the RCAs from both my amps, and the noise was still there. Is the ground loop isolator going to fix this noise if it was still present when the RCAs were unhooked?

The ground loop isolator I got has two male RCA ends. When I plug it in the back of my HU, will there be a matching female RCA plug? Do I need to buy an adapter to go from male to female?
