how do they compare? same RMS and imdependence. my guess would be (both ported) the SX would be louder but the idmax would have better SQ. but the idmax would also be very loud, and the SX have good sq

right?

what do you think?

from what i read here many times b4 IDmax is almost like a JL 12 or 13w7 - a SQL sub

while the SX is more into SPL but still has some degree of SQ ........

Im not sure how a IDMAX would respond getting more then 1000rms, but i no SX's can take 1200+rms with ease.

I would not go with an idmax ported, and i would not go with an sx sealed, it really depends on what you want.

They both are kinda underrated respectively, the SX's sq is pretty nice, and the IDMAX's spl is also pretty nice

I got rid of my ID MAX 12s in one and a half weeks of having them, just didn't like them. I now have two RE SX15s but only one actually made it to my car and I would say the one 15 outpowers the two 12s SPL wise. The IDs have a really nice "audiophile" type of sound, good transient responce but I prefer a little more thump and the SXs have plenty of SQ going on too. I would say for the money, it is hard to beat the RE SX. The slot ported box I used for the IDs were 2 cf each chamber, tuned to 32hz. The RE sx15 is in a 4 cf with four 4" round ports box tuned to around 44hz but in car tuning comes to be almost spot on at 38hz, all ran on a Kicker SX1250.1, one for each when using the two IDs. Now this is just my opinion and not meant to sell products so to each his own...Polo. :-)

Closer to a W6v2 in terms of output. Still respectable, but not quite what you'd get from a W7, XXX. Not a huge difference in output.

An ID Max 12" ported tuned to 25hz is killer. Sick low end and excellent SQ.

In what type of car is it good to have it ported at 2.5 cuft @ 25 hz ? Every car is differant. What type of car did you hear it in and what type of amp and HU>
