there have been a few people emailing me about how to build boxes w/ interchangable ports. i just finish a box w/ these ports, so i took some pics of the build and made a how-to guide.

enjoy.

after box rise the SX15 sees ~750wrms on burps...i did 148.0db @48hz at the last comp i went to, but i made a few changes to the box...hopfully i'll gain a lil.

i have a comp on the 24th...the guy in that how-to guide will be there w/ me too, he will be in SS301-900. i hooked those 2 L5 15's to my jbl bp1200.1 for a lil bit and it was pretty loud. w/ the SPL port in i'm guessing he should be in the high 140s easily.

you do good work marshal. how long did it take you to build that box? i actually do want to do interchangable ports on my next enclosure. the only thing im worried about is it will be bent like an L and im afraid it wont fit because it wont drop straight in. very good "how to" though.

thanks trevor,

and L-shaped drop in port will work just fine...you just have to think it through when you build it.

infact...my daily port is L-shaped

i dont know really. i guess like 45hz-50hz. remember the ava isnt an SPL driver and the higher you go it will begin to dropoff. id find out the cas res. freq.

and remember if ur doing interchangable ports your net cuft will change with a different port.

B,

if people are willing to buy them...i am more than willing to sell :-)

Joseph,

i use winISD and a lil geometry is all. its hard to explain in words...but if i had someone watching me build the box, its easier to understand. you just have to factor in port and sub displacments when designing the enclosure.
