Sunday, February 12, 2006 - 20:11 GMT im going to do an install on a freinds ride and at this point in time he does not want an aftermarket HU. what LOC would you reccomend and could you explain a little on how they work. as from what i read you hook it up to the stock speaker wiring and it transforms the signal to RCAs which you hook up to the amps, right? any extra help and info would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Sunday, February 12, 2006 - 23:03 GMT yup, i used a tsunimi or how ever its spelled, and all you do is cut the rear speaker pos and neg on both speakers and reconnect them to the loc box to the speakers.. and then you have out puts. The down side to this is that all the other speakers will have bass.

Sunday, February 12, 2006 - 23:09 GMT not always so, amps have hpf and lpf so you can decide what frequencies go out of the amp. also compontnent sets will have crossovers. thanks for the input eric

Sunday, February 12, 2006 - 23:21 GMT i have used lots of LOC's they basically consist of a resistor and transformer that is rated to a certain range eg. 10-25w they drop the signal significantly so it is acceptable by an amplifier just look for 1 within the wattage range of his HU

Tuesday, February 14, 2006 - 02:01 GMT yes...a LOC is meant to tap onto existing speaker connections also,it does not take any power from what ur tapping from...
