Thursday, February 09, 2006 - 22:48 GMT what would be the best sub to run off a MRD-M1005 RMS Power (at 12V,20Hz-200Hz) Per channel into 2 ohms : 700W x 1 Per channel into 4 ohms : 500W x 1 I had two of the 2 ohm type R's but i'm looking for something that will have at least equal sq and better spl. Is there any one sub that could be run off this amp that would out do the R's.

Thursday, February 09, 2006 - 23:12 GMT i would say that the 1 Se is pretty much on par w/ 1 type-R....as far as daily use. but in an SPL application...the type-r could actually handle more power on burps than the SE.

Friday, February 10, 2006 - 01:01 GMT well i had two type-r's but they were stolen a couple of nights ago, the thing is i dont really want to upgrade my electrical system and i already have that amp. i would have no problem getting two subs but i only have around 600 to spend on subs and box. I pretty much just want something that will be louder than the type-r's with same sq.

Friday, February 10, 2006 - 05:00 GMT How much you looking on spending on the sub(s). There are plenty of great subs that can handle 700rms at 2 ohms.

Saturday, February 11, 2006 - 16:02 GMT StereoIntegrity mag 12 would be perfect. Dual 2 ohm voice coils, and can handle 700rms no problem. It will give you much better sq than type r's, and the spl will be way better. I have hit 151.x db's with my mag 12 in a ported enclosure. So 1 12 can get plenty loud. pm me if you have any questions because i forget to check all these threads sometimes.
