Hey guys I've got my amp's filter set at 85hz and my HU set at 63Hz. I'm impressed with how the subs sound but I want to make sure I'm not going to hurt them set like that. Any help would be great.

are you sure you have your subsonic set at 85hz? or your LPF on 85hz? do you have a sealed box or ported?

LPF on amp should be set around 60-70Hz
head unit LPF should be off
amp ISF should be off for a sealed box, or set to the port frequency for a ported box.

Glasswolf, my amp comes in a 12db slope and its set to around 60-70hz on the filter. Now if my HU is set at a 6db slope around 80hz will that come out to 18db slope total for my sub or should i just stick with the amps 12db slope and keep my front stage amp at 12db also and call it a day. Please let me whats best in this case.

Hey I have the HU set at 12 slope @ 63hz and my amp's low pass at 85hz 12 slope. Is that alright or will i hurt the subs? I'm in a small sealed box that goes under the back seats of my Dodge Ram

These are usually the recommended slopes and crossover points

HPF - 12db @ 100-125hz

LPF - 18db @ 63-80hz

Im just not sure if i should set this on my HU or AMP or BOTH ? ? ? ?

Glasswolf is knowledgable and should know which is the best way to go in our case.
